Matt Renshaw
With Australia 6-124 at Kingsmead, Matt Renshaw, shuffled down to No. 5 after Nic Maddinson was picked to open, dragged them to 390 with a career-best 190 off 397 balls. He added 134 for the ninth wicket with Nathan Lyon, Australia's best for that wicket since 1894. It was only his second Test hundred, 3,567 days after his first (184 at the SCG as a 20-year-old), and he called it “pretty special” after a career of being dropped, recalled and dropped again. Australia went on to win the Test by 214 runs, and he was named player of the match.
